Seven New Colleges To Receive $50,000 Each to Implement Dreamkeepers Emergency Financial Assistance

Thanks to a grant from the Wal-Mart Foundation, Contra Costa College (CA), Lorain County Community College (OH), Miami Dade College (FL), Moraine Valley Community College (IL), Prince George's Community College (MD), Westmoreland County Community College (PA) and the University of Maryland will each receive $50,000 to implement Scholarship America's Dreamkeepers Emergency Financial Assistance program. The program addresses the high dropout rates of students faced with an unexpected crisis, such as medical expenses, job loss and other emergencies.

The financial contribution from this program will help increase graduation rates by providing emergency assistance to students who otherwise may be forced to drop out of school.
